The Official closing ceremony of the 2006 season took place on the 11th of on the softball field in 73rd school.
Awards were given to the teams who took part in:
- National championship – women;
- Cup of Bulgaria – women;
- Cup of Sofia – women;
- National championship – kids under 14
- Cup of 73-rd school – kids 4-6th grade.
As every year there were individual awards for the best players as well..
The team of Athletic Sofia became the 4th club who signed its name as a Bulgarian champion in the 14-year championship history. The players of Athletic won also the CUPS of Bulgaria and Sofia which happens for 1st time since 2000 when the team of Akademiks took the 3 titles.
The main player of Athletic and the National team Gergana Nikolova took the award for Best pitcher, best batter was Diana Hristova from the Akadmeiks and MVP award went to Petya Sokolova from Angels.
3 players from Babes took the prizes for best players in the National team for 2006 – Aleksandrina Bogdanova, Martina Gocheva and Lyubima Harizanova.
The special guests of the ceremony were:
Mr. Nikolay Vasilev – minister of the State’s Administration
Mr. Emil Milev – mayor of Triaditsa region
Mr. Stefan Zlatarov – head of Sports department in the State’s Agency of Youth and Sports
Mr. Andrey Panayotov – responsible for the school sport in the State’s Agency of Youth and Sports
Mrs. Denitsa Angelova – principal of the 73rd school
Mrs. Evgeniya Karadjova – managing director of ESRI Bulgaria
Mr. Teodor Milev – managing director of Microsoft Bulgaria
The special guest awarded the winners in the competitions as well as the best players.
Mrs. Karadjova and Mr. Teodor Milev presented the awards in the first ever National championship for kids under 14 in which their companies support 2 of the teams Lions-ESRI and Akademiks-Microsoft.
Champion is the team of the Lions-ESRI after a tough battle with the Devils Dupnitsa.
The MVP award was taken by Vaska Georgieva from the Lions-ESRI.
After the ceremony there was a demonstration game between the teams of the Lions-ESRI and Akademiks-Microsoft.

THE TEAM OF ATHLETIC SOFIA – CHAMPION OF BULGARIA
The 14th National Championship Softball Women ended on the 15th of October.
After winning over the team of Babes Blagoevgrad /champions for 2004 and 2005/ with 4:1 and 13:3 in the final play off the team of Athletic Sofia wrote its name as the forth cjampion in the Bulgarian softball history.
In the play off for 3rd place the team of Angels Dupnitsa won over the team of Akademiks Sofia with results 18:4 è 19:18 and took the first medals in its short history.
The team of Athletic did the double after winning the Cup of Bulgaria earlier this month for 3rd successive time winning the final over the team of Angels Dupnitsa.
The new Champions have an opportunity to take yet another cup in the tournament for the Cup of Sofia which will take place this Saturday at the softball field in 73rd school. The teams of Akademiks and Junak will try to stop them.
